Attention, Local Humans: Don’t Say You Weren’t Warned

From “Da’wah To Our Fellow Human Beings Living in America,” by Hamaza Thie Bui, South Central Zone Representative, Al-Furqaan Foundation, in the August edition of Houston Islamic Source:

The eventual purpose of da’wah is to establish a model for humanity to see … always have a translation of trhe Qur’an ready. Let people see you carry it around. Let people see you read it at work … We have to look at all Americans as potential Muslims … We need to use wisdom to give them a ayah or hadith that they will accept. That entails knowing the language of the land---English---proficiently and understanding American culture … We should collectively give out the Qur’an to non-Muslims. We should make sure it gets everywhere: to business leaders, our government rulers [sic] … We should put Allah’s name in our business contracts. For entrepreneurs, when we sign contracts with non-Muslims, should put it in the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful in the document … Finally, we cannot call them kafir until they openly reject the truth … a kafir covers up the truth, although he knows in his heart there is only one God … It is our duty to tell these potential Muslims the truth; [sic] in a way they will understand it … We as Muslims need to carry on the prophetic message of bringing glad tidings to the believers and warnings to the disbelievers of Allah’s terrible punishment … We want to make sure that (inshaAllah) on the Day of Judgment that there is not a single non-Muslim in this country who can say that he or she hasn’t heard about Islam from us Muslims, and not from FOX-TV or CNN News …

An Interesting Fact Regarding Our Town’s Alleged Schoolboy Jihadists That Still Begs for Some Explanation and/or Elaboration

As you may have heard or read, one of the four would-be jihadists who were stung by government informants while taking target practice (or something … ) up in Montgomery County caught 10 months in the pen this week for a mere federal firearms violation.

Another young Pakistani allegedly involved in the same hare-brained “plot” to aid the Taliban is supposed to go on trial Monday.

One eye-opening twist in this story that we’d like to learn more about is the fact that the property at Willis on which the four were allegedly honing their infidel-slaying skills (or, according to one of men’s attorneys, simply enjoying an old-fashioned Texas weekend of male bonding, presumably without beer) is owned by the Islamic Society of Greater Houston. We were first apprised of this connection by a story in the Houston Chronicle back in December, wherein the society’s ownership was mentioned in passing---a very hasty passing---with no further elaboration or comment from a society official. The news was attributed to a Houston-based FBI counterterrorism agent who was testifying in a Dallas detention hearing for one of the four.

As far as we can tell this portion of the agent’s testimony went unremarked upon by other media, save for another quickly passing mention in a story that aired on the CBS TV affiliate in Dallas.

Surely there’s an innocent explanation and the Islamic Society was unaware of what the government claims these Koran-thumping jokers were up to on its property. Or perhaps someone in the society colluded with the government and its informants by helping to set the foursome up. Or …

In lieu of clarification, we’ll just let our imagination run wild.

Non-White-Skin Privilege

Author and journalist Martin Amis, man of the left (non-woozy division), explaining his “Islamismophobia” in Wednesday’s Wall Street Journal:

The situation in Britain is ridiculous and contemptible. Some left-wing people--it's a bit insulting to the left to call them that . . . see someone with a grievance who hasn't got white skin and they think, Well, we must have done something really horrible to them. There's this masochistic view that we can't be right about anything. The woozy left has made itself an apologist for a creedal wave that is racist, misogynist, homophobic, totalitarian, imperialist and genocidal. But at least they're not white! … Islamismophobia is not the right word, either, because a phobia is an irrational or exaggerated fear and it is neither irrational nor exaggerated to fear a movement that wants you dead and has said it wants you dead. This great gust of irrationality coming from the Middle East, we meet it with another gust of irrationality."

From the story in Friday’s New York Times on the Ethiopian-aided ouster (for at least a day or two) of the Union of Islamic Courts militiamen from Mogadishu, capital of a mostly Muslim “nation” called Somalia:

The Islamist leaders may also have miscalculated the appetite among Somalis for the harsh brand of Islam they were pushing. On Thursday, to celebrate the departure of the Islamists, many Mogadishu residents stuffed their mouths with khat, a mildly narcotic plant the Islamists had outlawed, and cranked up Western music, which some clerics had tried to ban.
